Bronnie’s History Lesson
In the 16th Century, when East met the West through the doors of the spice trade, many exotic recipes came with them. A spice merchant on returning from a voyage to South Africa, carried one such recipe.
Once back in England the Spice Merchant took his exotic recipe to a chemist in Worcestershire, where he asked him to prepare one barrel of sauce with the new and aromatic spices from the East. The spice merchant made arrangement to collect and pay on the return of his next Spice Run.
Well no one really knows whatever happened to the spice merchant with a taste of the exotic, but the chemist in Worcestershire had to cover his costs, so he bottled his one barrel of sauce and unsure of a name he decided to name it after the county in which is chemist shop operated “Worchester Shire”...
And so began, a very old family recipe, one that has stood the test of time.
This is fiction. LOL B.J. xoxo
